This vintage 1941 poster is an iconic piece of advertising from the Chicago and North Western Line, promoting summer trips to the Sun Valley resort in Idaho. The artwork is attributed to brothers William and Kenneth Willmarth, artists who worked extensively for the Union Pacific Railroad, the founder of Sun Valley.
The poster highlights ice skating as a summer activity, a unique attraction of Sun Valley at the time, and features a skater in a dynamic pose on an outdoor ice rink, with the Sun Valley Lodge and surrounding hills in the background.
