Dress with Ruffles – 1835

A woman in a white dress from 1835. The woman’s dress has an off-the-shoulder collar made of a white ruffle edged in pink. She has Virago sleeves with similar white ruffles edged in pink on each of two tiers. The lower portion of the sleeves are made of lace, and have a fitted cuff edged in lace. She wears white gloves and black shoes. The bottom half of the skirt is composed of three tiers of white ruffles that are edged with pink. She wears a white and black brooch on the bodice and two narrow short necklaces.

She wears a white bonnet with a large brim, and a small ruffle. She has small pink flowers with green leaves placed in her hair. Her bonnet is decorated with plumes of pink feathers and a white ribbon. Her dark hair is center parted, with ringlets at the sides. Her right hand is pointed towards her face, which looks to the left, and in her left hand she holds a twig with leaves on it.
