Walking and Evening Dresses – 1811

The woman on the left wears a pale pink dress with ankle-length skirts, long sleeves, a high waist, and a square neck. The bodice is edged and decorated in bands of blue and there is a blue band along the hem and at the wrists. She wears a soft white bonnet with a lacy brim, pearls around the crown, and two strands of pearls hanging down. She wears white gloves, stockings, and flat shoes.

The woman on the right is in profile. She wears a long, gray dress with a high waist and two rows of narrow black trim at the hem. Over the dress she wears a yellow pelisse coat with long sleeves and a high collar. The pelisse reaches below the knees and is worn open. She wears a matching yellow bonnet with an extended, visor-like crown. The bonnet ties under her chin with a yellow ribbon. She wears white stockings and flat, black shoes.
