Walking Dress – Winter 1822

A woman in a walking dress for November 1822. A white, ruff collar protrudes from the collar of her lavender dress. A dark pink ruffle runs down the front of her dress from the collar to the hem. The Juliet style sleeves end with a ruffled cuff. She wears yellow gloves and holds her white bonnet with pink and white striped trim in her hands. Sprigs of red flowers with green leaves adorn the top of her bonnet, arranged across the white ruffled fabric.

The skirt is hemmed with the same dark pink ruffle that appears on the front of the dress. She wears a pair of white shoes. She stands in front of a vanity table and a red and gold footstool. The table is covered with a white, ruffled tablecloth and supports a mirror and two small boxes. To the right side of the frame is a pale pink drapery with a swirled pattern.
