This is a World War II propaganda poster titled “The United Nations Fight for Freedom”. Publisher/Sponsor: United States Office of War Information (OWI).
The poster was created to promote the Allied alliance, which at the time was known as the “United Nations,” before the creation of the modern organization with that name. The poster shows the flags of countries and governments in exile that pledged to support the Allied effort.
The poster features a large collection of Allied flags floating above smoke and a battle scene, with military ships and aircraft in the foreground. The flags present represent the nations that signed the 1942 Declaration of the United Nations.
