Summer Hats – 1900

Printed in blue ink with no colors. There are four women in hats with two extra hats on either side of the woman on the bottom. They are backed with a rectangular decorated frame, and three circles setting off the woman at the top and the two hats in the bottom row. The woman at the center top wears a large white pleated bow at her neck. Her hat is a straw, with a curved brim decorated with a group of roses, with leaves and a lace fall at the side.

The woman on the left wears a white high necked blouse with a ruffle under her chin. Her hat is of softly pleated fabric with an upturned side surmounted by a plume. A large white bow with an oval buckle decorates the crown. The woman on the right wears her hair pulled back at the neck with a bow. Her hat is a flat brimmed straw decorated with roses at the crown. At the bottom left is another soft fabric hat with rows or pleats on the brim and crown, and a standing cockade of fabric.

In the center of the bottom row is a women wearing a white high necked shirt with buttons down the front, and ruffles at the neck. Over that she wears a jacket with standing lapels of brocade or lace. Her hat is a straw with a turned up brim edged in white, decorated with standing feather plumes. To her right is another soft fabric hat with pleating.
