Everyone is a soldier and ready to fight invaders
This is an original Chinese political propaganda poster from the Cultural Revolution era, created in the 1970s. The poster’s title, written in Chinese characters at the base, is “Quánmín jiē bīng zhǔnbèi dǎzhàng,” which translates to “All people are soldiers, prepare for war.”
The poster served as a call to national mobilization, encouraging the population to be ready to defend the nation and fight invaders. The main image depicts a man (representing the people/militia) blowing a bugle to signal readiness, with scenes of troops in motion and warships in the background, reinforcing the message of national defense and vigilance.
This type of art was common in Mao Zedong’s China to promote militaristic ideology and the unification of the people under a common purpose of defense and hard work.
