Saxe-Cobourg Robe – Spring 1816

A woman wears a Saxe-Cobourg dress. She wears a short-sleeved, empire-waisted pink dress, with a white, ruffled underdress. The skirt opens in the front to reveal the underdress and is fastened back at the hem with small gold flowers or bows. The sides of the skirt are fastened together with small gold flowers. She wears white shoes and mid-length white gloves.

The sleeves and bodice of the underdress show beneath the dark pink fabric used to adorn the sleeves and outline the bodice. The bodice is trimmed with gold and a little gold flower decorates the sleeves. She wears a headpiece made of a long, light pink sash gathered together in front with a small pink and gold pendant. She wears a gold necklace with a flower shaped pendant.

She wears a bracelet made of pink and gold flowers on her left upper arm. She holds a white handkerchief in her left hand and a large white muff made of ruffled fabric in her right.
