The image celebrates Deng Xiaoping’s political rehabilitation and the end of the Cultural Revolution following the fall of the “Gang of Four.” At the time, Deng and Ye were central figures in the power transition, working alongside Hua Guofeng to stabilize China.
The poster reinforces Deng’s “Four Cardinal Principles,” which included maintaining Mao Zedong Thought as a guide for the country. Deng Xiaoping, known as the “Architect of Modern China,” led the economic reforms that opened the country to the global market starting in 1978.
Ye Jianying was a veteran marshal who played a crucial role in the post-Mao transition, helping Deng return to power and maintaining military stability.
