This hand-colored 1831 French fashion plate from the magazine Petit Courrier des Dames showcases exquisite evening attire. The standing woman on the right wears an off-the-shoulder white organdie gown featuring an oversized lace collar trimmed with points de Bruxelles, a green belt with a golden buckle, and vertical rows of embroidered red flowers and green ferns down the skirt. Her elaborate, towering updo hairstyle is adorned with fresh roses and a high golden comb. The seated woman on the left is seen from the back, wearing a soft pink gown with a similar wide lace collar, her hair elegantly pinned up with flowers and a matching golden tiara comb while resting on a green velvet stool.
