Parfumeriefabrik Pessl – 1923

Abstract Harlequin Figures Define Early Austrian Cosmetics Graphic Identity

This striking lithographic print displays an original commercial advertisement from early 1923. Acclaimed graphic master Julius Klinger designed this innovative visual campaign for the Parfumeriefabrik Pessl company. The symmetrical composition features two highly stylized human characters made entirely of geometric diamond tiles. A bold reddish-orange border frames the central artistic group on a clean white canvas.

Geometric Diamond Patterns Decorate Avant Garde Austrian Marketing Material

The intricate design showcases a repeating diamond pattern in solid black, white, and red tones. Delicate white line drawings create organic leaf elements inside each individual tile component. Elegant serif typography displays the brand name Pessl in widely spaced letters along the lower black margin. The miniature artist signature and production date sit subtly beneath the main horizontal frame.
