Nineteenth-Century German Cartography of the Middle East and Central Asia

This highly detailed antique map, titled “Iran Östliche Hälfte,” was drafted by the renowned German cartographer Heinrich Kiepert and published in Berlin in 1878 by Dietrich Reimer. The historical engraving focuses on the eastern half of Iran, meticulously charting the complex geopolitical borders, mountainous terrain, and desert landscapes of Afghanistan, Baluchistan, and the neighboring independent khanates during the late nineteenth century.

Historical Survey of Regional Topography and Tribal Territories

Compiled from authoritative English and Russian original surveys, this archival document maps out critical regional geography, including the Karakum Desert, the Helmand River basin, and the rugged Hindu Kush mountain ranges. It serves as an invaluable primary resource for researching ancestral tribal territories, historic Silk Road trade routes, and the boundary demarcations that shaped modern Central Asian history.
