French Fashions – Summer 1846

The woman on the left wears her hair in a bun and wears a light blue dress with a white bodice edged with ruching. Her dress has short sleeves with multiple layers. The woman on the right wears her hair in a bun and ringlets and a pink flower on the side. Her dress is white, edged in pink,and has white and pink ruching around the edges. The skirt is in two layers. The dress has a decollete neck with a pink flower or ribbon corsage, and a pointed waist. She wears two bracelets on her left arm. The piano is brown, with a red upholstered rond stool. In the back is a sofa with cushions, a Greek key design on the wall, heavy draperies held back witha large round tie back, and a vista of green trees, and a row of cypresses.
