Faivre allegorical wartime combat and heroic male figure

Jules Abel Faivre illustrates the fierce military triumph of France with remarkable graphic power. The popular French illustrator depicts a muscular shirtless soldier wearing a traditional steel combat helmet. The hero holds a long metal sword while he firmly subdues a massive dark imperial eagle. The aggressive bird represents the opposing enemy forces during the intense global conflict. This dramatic physical struggle directly symbolized the inevitable victory of the allied nations over their invaders.

Clean black lettering defines the institutional banking text placed at the absolute top and bottom borders. The printed message urges patriotic French citizens to subscribe to the official fourth national war loan program. A large tricolor flag billows dynamically around the central fighter to reinforce national pride. Masterful charcoal lines and subtle pastel washes create a strong textured background across the paper surface. This rare historical document remains a magnificent example of early twentieth-century financial propaganda design.
