This authentic hand-colored fashion plate from the prestigious French periodical Journal des Femmes captures the peak of mid-19th-century high-society couture. The antique print depicts a courtyard or church interior featuring a stone angel fountain, showcasing the transition into classic Victorian styles. Defined by sloping shoulders, tight pointed waistlines, and bell-shaped pleated skirts, these historic Parisian engravings dictated luxury trends for aristocratic families across Europe.
