Bridal Fashions – 1846

Two women stand in a room. The woman on the left wears a forest green gown with black stripes in a “V” shape on the bodice and long sleeves. Vertical stripes run down the length of the skirt. She wears a white blouse with a lace collar and small green bow at the neck. She holds a white lace bonnet with ruffles and pink flowers and ribbons in her left hand, and a placard with the designer’s name in her right hand. The woman on the right is dressed in an elaborate white wedding gown with a large off the shoulder lace collar.

At the center of the collar is a pale pink rose. The skirt is three tiers of white lace and is gathered at three points on the side with bunches of three pale pink roses and green leaves. She wears a garland of white flowers with a long sheer white lace veil which almost reaches the floor. She wears white gloves and she holds a white Bible. In the background is a small ornate shelf
