Ball Dress – Spring 1833

A woman in a Parisian ball dress from 1833. The woman wears a short sleeved ankle length pink and white dress. A column of four pink bows runs vertically up the bodice. The wide off the shoulder collar is edged with white lace. Epaulets of pink fabric cover the tops of her puff sleeves and are edged with white lace. The skirt is white with a pink and green flower pattern. She wears white gloves and white slippers tied in the manner of ballet slippers.

Her hair is styled in two bunches of curls and a bun with a gold hair ornament is wrapped around it. She wears a decorative gold band over her hair. Green grapes and leaves ornament the top of her hair. She wears gold diamond-shaped drop earrings. In her left hand she holds a bouquet of yellow flowers. With her right hand she gestures towards herself and looks to the right.
