“Avenue to Schloss Kammer” is a 1912 painting by Klimt depicting a tree-lined path leading to Schloss Kammer, a castle on Austria’s Lake Attersee. The painting is notable for Klimt’s use of foreshortening to create depth in the avenue, a departure from his usual flat, densely composed landscapes, and his characteristic intricate, patterned treetops.
The work blends naturalism with decorative elements in the Art Nouveau style and is part of his series of landscapes from his summers spent at the lake.
