American Ball Gown – Spring 1898

A woman is wearing a light blue-green dress with yellow designs and yellow ruched trimming. The dress has a high neck with a white frill and short puffed sleeves with white frills under the ruffled edges. The bodice has a curved yoke, extending the line of the sleeves, and trimmed with a squiggle of yellow ruching around the yoke.

There is a large yellow bow at the front left side of the yoke with ends that drapes over her left shoulder, and hangs down to below her knees. The skirt is flared and full, with a narrow front section of white lace, edged with more squiggles of yellow ruching, extending along the hem all around the skirt. She wears a yellow belt or waist, and is wearing over the elbow white gloves. She holds a white feather fan in her left hand and is wearing a narrow bracelet.
