This historical watercolor artwork showcases an elegant nineteenth-century salt-glazed stoneware inkwell.
The round ceramic container features decorative cobalt blue bands and intricate stamped circle patterns.
The name Geo Crawford is clearly impressed into the front surface between two dotted borders.

Historical folk art illustration details

The precise drawing captures a central pen opening surrounded by concentric decorative rings.
Three smaller holes for resting quill pens are placed evenly around the top flat surface.
This visual document belongs to the permanent Index of American Design archive collection today.
